“Tana” Adventures!

December 13, 2016

image

Somewhere along the way I was convinced that taking a trip to Montana with my mom and daughters during my maternity leave would be a good idea.

image

It was! We had a great time. Or as Katie says, “We went on an airplane and had an adventure!”

image

My little dinosaur on a horse. She LOVED the horse! When Aunt Kristie got up with her and they went around the field she insisted they go faster!

image

We lucked out with really incredible weather, never getting super cold. In fact our last two days in Golden, CO, where we were visiting a cousin, were in the upper 70’s! In mid-November!

image

It was a really good time, we wish we could see them more often!

Good times! Can’t wait to go back!

Tree!

December 12, 2016

And this should not be the second post you see today, but WordPress did not upload last weekend’s post-so you get two!

image

Our dear friend has made it down again and we just finished putting the last ornaments on the tree! Katie did help she keeps taking “her” ornaments and clustering them in one spot. So when she goes to bed I re-distribute them! (Maybe she does get her OCD traits from me…)

We had to wait to finish decorating once she went to bed. Firstly because the needles while stringing popcorn are sharp and of course she shouldn’t have popcorn yet. Let’s be honest though. There is one tradition that she nor her sister will be participating in for a VERY long time. That of course is the reading of a letter we received on our first Christmas. I still laugh out loud.

With so much love to you both! (And the other 3 people that periodically read this these posts)

Santa! and Trains!

December 11, 2016

image

We’ve had several adventures that should be documented… But why not start with this past weekend!

image

This is our third year of attending The Indiana Railroad’s Santa Train (well Elizabeth and Daddy’s first). So much fun!

image

We met characters…

image

image

image

And most importantly we got to see Santa ON the train!

image

Then we made our way out to the observation deck to watch the train cross!

image

If you look really close you can see Santa on the front of the train!

image

As a certain toddler commented later, “good day!”

Zoo zoo zoo, you can come too too too!

Somehow only the title of this post went up. I’ve tried to fix it a few times. Not sure what is up with that…

A few weeks ago now the girls and I joined very close friends and took a trip to the Indianapolis Zoo! We all had fun, but Katie was on cloud nine!

We saw ZEBRAS!

And giraffes!

The highlight of the trip were the dolphins. We saw the dolphin show and then later went into the underwater dome. At one point she was nose to nose with one! It was all very exciting!

She hasn’t stopped singing about going back! (Of course Peter Paul and Mary may be slightly responsible for that…)

Torch relay!

September 21, 2016

So evidently WordPress didn’t like my post from yesterday and took all the pics down that I posted…
image
My mom got to carry the Indiana Bicentennial Torch yesterday!
image
It was very exciting to watch! Katie Marie might have gotten very upset because she wanted a turn to carry it. (We are going to have to make one for her as every picture she sees reminds her that it is Katie’s turn)

Luckily the Indiana Railroad brought a train-awesome distraction!

A great day!

Sleep Sack!

September 18, 2016

image

Possibly the best baby attire ever is the infant sleep sack. This one is even more awesome because it goes together with magnets! Yep, no snaps, zippers or pulling over heads with this one! Magnets-which are kind of like magic!

You may also note this baby sleeps on her back in a bassinet! Something her sister maybe did once in her life and then only for a moment! Of course Elizabeth hasn’t stopped making noises since she was delivered. The cutest is the cooing like a dove. But the grunts come in a close second!

She is now three weeks old!

image

Big sis continues to adjust, but in the meantime we take trips to the trestle to see trains! We’ll be back there on this coming Wednesday when Pa Charlotte carries the Bicentennial Torch!

More pics to come!

But first!

image

This was our outfit this evening. It should be noted that I am not taking a picture of Katie-this is a picture of the elephant.

image

It took some work to get the elephant lower than her face. Surprisingly the smile in the first picture was immediate!

Finally, we welcomed Elizabeth Anne into the world last Sunday morning! It has been an incredible week!

Love to all!
