My girls.

February 14, 2021

It’s been a hot second. Or maybe 2 years ish. Today the girls got home from a weekend of visiting family and we went out to sled. K thought a moment should also be shared embracing the beauty of nature.

FIVE Years Old!

March 23, 2019

Not sure how it went so quickly, but we now have a 5-year old in the house! (Not the prettiest cake ever, but delicious and the girls thought it was perfect!)

This is her big present, that isn’t quite finished. You can follow my progress on this over on Instagram @chaosincreativity. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to post it finished!

We are thrilled it is spring! Here is our annual shot with our great grandmother’s daffodils! Today is actually Katie’s 6th pic as they bloomed right after she was born.

Pure joy! Absolutely loves being outside!!

Have a great day!

Love, Malealyn and the girls!

Snow!!!

January 14, 2019

We’ve been waiting.

And waiting.

For snow!

And this weekend it finally came!!!

We ate the snow (every chance we got!)

And went sledding!

Even today after most of the snow has melted.

Skirts are key. The rufflier the better!

Have a beautiful day. More snow forecasted very soon!

Oh holy night

December 26, 2018

Christmas Eve was lovely.

The girls only drive me to a slight distraction with their candles. Both have clothes covered in wax. Covered.

Wishing you calm and joy this holiday season!

Love, Malea Lyn and the girls!

Happy Christmas!!!

December 17, 2018

Our tree trimmer has come and gone. We had a delightful visit, and we trimmed the tree!

Lots of help this year!

We went to Columbus to seek out mid century architecture, and I found this gem at the gift shop for 50% off! The eldest and I are having an ongoing disagreement on its display. She thinks it should be flat, while I rather enjoy the spiral!

This evening I placed these two special ornaments. Reading the accompanying letter always makes me laugh.

This morning the girls were in the Christmas pageant at church! Oh too much!

A few weeks ago they got to see Santa at Santa Train!

It was an absolute deluge of rain, but they were troopers!

It cleared off by the time we got to the deck and got to see the train cross the trestle!

Life has been crazy and nuts but good. Have a beautiful Christmas!

And with a blink it is October!

October 17, 2018

With no bias whatsoever I feel we can all agree, October is the best month of the year!!!!

I received these lovelies from my mother! I realize I owe you an update from Montana AND the dunes and probably my recent conference in Columbus, OH. I’ll try and get a few up today.

These two.

Pretty awesome, right? This was from an exhibit at COSI, a museum in Columbus. I was able to FaceTime the girls while walking through this exhibit. Would love to take them for a long weekend. Sidenote. Did you know the Field Museum has moved Sue? And a BIGGER dinosaur is moving into the atrium? Got to go!

The following are highlights from the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Best. Place.

Yes, it was very windy. But overall we had perfect weather!

The waves this night were nuts! But the sunset (the red one way down this list) was amazing.

This was the night before. Absolutely lovely.

Very cool driftwood tree.

“C’mon Mom! I walk with Gamma!”

This was actually after the dunes trip, but I’m posting from my phone and short of deleting and re-uploading the pic, here it stays. I’ve been trying to get the eldest to wear this pink skirt since I bought it in Montana. She picked the rest of the outfit. I was simply thrilled she was wearing it!!! E saw Katie’s skirt and had to wear hers as well.

Back to the dunes and apple picking!!! They are delicious! Well and all gone or in applesauce by now.

This was the sunset the night of the crazy waves. It just kept getting better.

Hello!

The only downside to the dunes is a long drive home. Don’t worry. Just ketchup!

MT update of sorts

August 11, 2018

We started Wednesday at the State Fair. I had to work, and the girls got to play!

Then we started our flight. Long story short, we didn’t make it to MT that evening. The girls were up for 19 hours and we had an emergency stay with a good friend of Mom’s in Seattle!!!

We finally arrived Thursday morning and cousins are having a blast!

Swimming in the new pool,

And this morning picking Huckleberries!

More soon,

Love, Malealyn and the girls!

August? Already?

August 3, 2018

Well it’s happened again and I feel like I’ve barely had time to blink and the State Fair is underway.

Since my last post life has been incredibly full but happy. This one is proving to be a handful. Quite the attitude.

I can’t wait to see what this one will choose to wear each day. I’m secretly disappointed when she goes along with my choice for the day (even if that does mean we got out of the house 20 min sooner).

This one LOVES my chocolate chip cookies and is thrilled with life until I take them away. ..

We picked some of the most delicious blackberries I’ve ever eaten in my life.

For those not in the know, this is how princesses smile.

Laxing at Gammas new house!

An adult beverage for Mom before Fair got truly nuts!

Someone was truly fascinated by the tractor pulls.

Not the girls, but one of my best shots of this year’s Fair.

I couldn’t get one with both girls looking at the camera, but the light was so perfect and they were so excited to run down the hill!

Filthy and happy!

We head to Montana in a few days, I’ll definitely update then!

And now it is June,

June 15, 2018

Which in my current profession is just nutso! However, I took the day off today so I’m going to take a moment to catch up with some pics!

This is my current view. Big sis is at per-school so she’s taking the time for some serious nesting.

We went to the zoo yesterday. This is at the always popular dolphin show!

There are times when they scream bloody murder, but I consider myself incredibly lucky that so far they really do look out for each other!

Oh my goodness we’ve had a lot of rain.

And new toys.

And dancing!

Did I mention rain?

Which brings me back to the second Saturday in May! Speedy Gonzales Style. I trust your Summers are going well too!

Second Sunday in May!

May 12, 2018

It was the 4th annual Tulip Trestle 5k! EA finished her 2nd. KM, well she started…. And she technically crossed the finish line… So that counts as 4 right?

It is one of the hardest 5k’s you can find. She walked probably half a k. A lot uphill at that. Then she kept our old neighbor company in the ranger!

Still a great family outing!

Then we completed the outing with fried fish from Happy Matt’s and some time at the park!

Great way to spend a Saturday!

Love, Malealyn and the girls!
