WHOO-HOO!!!

February 23, 2012

So the color may be terrible in this picture, it is going on 11pm here, but I got excited and had to post!  The top is finished!!!  All that is left is making the sandwich and binding!!!  Whoo-Hoo!!!

More Progress!!!

February 20, 2012

I’ve got a little under a month to finish this quilt.  So it is a GREAT thing that I have all the multicolored blocks finished as of today!  This is the big one here.  I’m going to work on piecing them as the week progresses and hopefully I’ll have a quilt top by the end of the week!

A few more projects that have been in the works. . .

February 2, 2012

I finished this shortly after New Year’s for an incredibly sweet baby girl.  Her parents are very dear friends, and I can’t help but keep making her things!

This blanket is very similar to the one I made my nephew, only not quite so long. . .  This one is currently in testing, my next one is started, [another baby due this summer!] so I’m trusting by the time it comes to decide length momma will be able to give me a full report!

Baby Girl’s daddy is a fireman, so when I found this flannel, I couldn’t help myself – I LOVE the blanket stitch binding!  Not that time consuming and it makes it feel very home-made.  I’ll try and get some more pictures up of all the Christmas presents I made this year soon.

Meanwhile, have a great day!

Nutty

February 1, 2012

I took this photograph at 4:30, the first of February, 2012.  We aren’t supposed to see these for WEEKS!  I’m so worried about our fruit this year!  I really wonder if we are going to get any winter at all.

We did get snow last month.  Don’t worry – it lasted for less than 24 hours.

We also got close to a 1/4″ of ice two weekends ago.  [that was REAL fun]  It melted within a few days of falling as well.  So it is just a nutty winter around these parts.  So we are going to go out for a walk in the tropical 62 degree weather that we have right now!

Hope you had a great day!

Progress was made!

January 31, 2012

Number 2 is turning three in March, and because Number 1 was given a quilt a little over a year ago, evidently the ability of them both to fit under one quilt has ended, and the need has arisen that each have their own.  [This is a lesson everyone is shocked I didn't learn MUCH sooner, but sometimes I can be a tad dense!]

So the lighting is terrible because it is 10.00 at night and I only have my compact fluorescents.  Heck, I still owe a picture of my last quilt in daylight.  Perhaps I’ll finish this one [there is a firm deadline here] and then photograph them both!  This is the first block of this quilt, it will also measure 36″x48″ so that everything is the same as Number 1′s.  I’m rather excited about what I have planned for this quilt.  Fingers crossed it turns out!

We’ll see – I won’t make any promises about further posting as it is taking me forever to post pictures that I took over a month ago!  Ooops.  Eventually I’ll get around to posting all these things.

Completion!

December 7, 2011

I have been working on all sorts of stuff the past few months.  This is a quilt that I finished early November, and am now sick of waiting for a sunny day to photograph it.  I hand-quilted it which I was VERY pleased with!  This went up in the Bloomington Quilt Guilds’ Quilt Show.  So that was exciting for me!  I am so very excited about this in general.  It will eventually make a great lap quilt – but maybe once there aren’t cats in the house. . .

You can’t see it in this picture- but there is a tiny frog over there on the right binding.  Possibly my favorite part. . . Possibly.

Busy. . .

December 6, 2011

But everything should be awesome once finished!  It is grey and cloudy out and has been for days.  Blegh.  I’m almost wishing for snow!  [almost, although I am VERY excited about the snow feature in WordPress.  I do get excited every year when I see those flakes falling softly from the top of the screen!]

Still Gorgeous!

November 3, 2011

This year has been a slow progression of color.  I was really afraid it was going to peak and be gone.  Especially when we got a lot of rain a few weeks ago, but instead we have had this beautiful transition.  This tree is right outside our house.  It is STUNNING right now!  Absolutely gorgeous!

Check back in a few days for the final reveal of my quilt!  It is almost finished and will be entered in the Bloomington Quilters Guild, Quilts from the Heartland Show on 11/11/11 at the Bloomington Convention Center!  [The show is also 11/12/11, but that is no where near as fun to say!]  Have a great day!

A New/Old Project

October 14, 2011

I’ve been working on this for a few months – but just recently decided to put it together and try and finish it for a quilt show.  I’m pretty excited about it actually.  This was taken a few days ago, it has rained since and now half of those beautiful leaves in the background are now on the ground.

It is also my cousin’s birthday for a few more minutes.  Well at least here – not in Germany where he is.  Hmmm.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY anyway!  This on top of the fact that I missed KPJ’s birthday and MY birthday.  It was exactly a week ago!  But I was doing fun things and didn’t think to post.   Ah well – all good things in time!

Enjoy your weekend!  Should be a beautiful one!

Almost Fall. . .

September 13, 2011

This was my drive home Monday evening.  There are some evenings that I feel so entirely blessed to be alive and experiencing all of this.

Today as I drove past the hay has been cut.  Tomorrow it will most likely be baled.  I’m glad I got this shot before it was cut with the fog settled in our little valley.

I’m going to try and be back.  Life continues to be nuts, but I’m maintaining a positive outlook!
